Blog of a former GVC Teacher from 1999

The following link is from a blog of a former GVC Teacher from 1999. He is writing about the GVC program and has a great video interview of his Australian students that participated in the GVC Contest.

Check it out and learn what it takes to be successful in the GVC Program.

Welcome to our new website!

Welcome to our newly designed GVC website!  We hope you will have time to visit the site often and discover the new content, news, tips, and resources!

Explore the new Resources section:  we have included many informative, compelling, and free online resources to assist students with research on a broad array of topics.  We have also provided a robust listing of web design and technology tools to enable students to prepare podcasts, incorporate animation into their sites, creatively develop original art, edit photos, and much, much more!  The resource listings includes descriptions and links to each resource.

And, there’s more!  We have incorporated blogs to facilitate sharing among the GVC community. For example, the “Cool Tools” blog is focused on providing information and tutorials that will be helpful as you work on your GVC projects.  We will add new resources frequently and encourage you to post your ideas and input as well!

Additionally, please contribute summaries of your wonderful “helping focus” activities.  It is so gratifying to see so many students “give back” by helping others and engaging in service learning projects.  We love to hear from you!

Global Virtual Classroom Programs

We are in the process of creating and redesigning a new website for the Global Virtual Classroom program to be ready for the next school year. We are receiving help and support for this project from Janet Barnstable and other GVC teachers and supporters.

We have also created three new GVC Blogs which will help update students, teachers and supporters of the program. The first is called GVC NEWS & Notes (that you are now viewing), the second is the GVC COOL TOOLS, and the third is the GVC Helping Focus.
